Background
Actioned into existence in 1996, Iris Software Inc. has grown into a reputed software solutions organization with offices in the US and in India, fulfilling the IT ambitions and requirements of a very broad range of organizations and industries – embracing the Fortune-listed as well as the middle markets.
As a first generation enterprise, Iris has accumulated all the experiences of being one and has built a strong foundation for its future growth and vision. Backed by a group of professional promoters, Iris has been able to chart for itself a roadmap for sustained progress and professional achievement, keeping in perspective the continuously changing technology landscape, customer needs, employee aspirations and social and cultural imperatives.
Management Team
- Sanjiv Khanna
Sanjiv Khanna heads the operations in the United States and is responsible for visioning and charting the future direction for Iris Software.
Before starting Iris Software, he has worked with Tata Unisys, a joint venture between Unisys Corporation and Tatas (a large conglomerate in India). During this period, he executed several large software assignments in the US and Europe. He has contributed significantly to the growth at Iris Software in bringing and integrating a larger international focus to the operations.
- Sunil Puri
Sunil Puri heads the Professional Services group in the US and has been instrumental in getting Iris on the preferred Vendor list of some of the Fortune 500 companies.
Prior to promoting Iris Software, he was employed with ICI, a large UK multinational in India.
- Anil Apte
Anil Apte heads the Software Engineering Center in India and is also responsible for marketing/sales of Iris’s services in UK, South East Asia and India.
Anil Apte has worked at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), one of the largest software services organizations in the world today, before promoting Iris Software. At TCS, he was involved in the delivery of various large projects, both in India and overseas. He has been instrumental in instituting the well-defined delivery process in Iris Software, which has been the backbone of its success.
- Shekhar Chandra
Mr. Shekhar Chandra heads the Business Solutions and Technology Services group in the USA. He is responsible for marketing, sales and fulfillment of software project services to its customers in the US.
Shekhar brings over 25 years of experience in the IT industry handling various roles including, marketing, sales, delivery and also independent management of operations of an IT project services company. Prior to joining Iris, Shekhar worked at several international software companies such as CyberTech, Equinox Solutions, Unisys Corporation and Covansys, Inc. At these companies, Mr. Chandra, was responsible for sales and delivery of software solutions for product companies and end-user organizations in the areas of Internet and Web Computing, Collaboration Technologies and Client/Server computing. He also built specialized practices in areas such as Outsourced Product Development.

With a modest beginning more than a decade ago, Iris currently has a large number of software professionals working for it in the United States as well as in India. Irisians are employed at the levels of Project Managers, Project Leaders, Module Leaders and Team Members. Supporting them is an effective Sales and Marketing team, a resourceful HR team, a Quality Team and accounting and administrative support staff. Our Human Resource practices are well defined, clearly outlining the career growth opportunities of all staff. We identify the goals and objectives of every individual and map these to what Iris can offer - these are discussed with every prospective employee. A clear organization structure is in place and the lines of authority and responsibility have been clearly defined.

Today, Iris Software has a larger number of customers from diverse industry sectors, including financial services, banking, high tech, retail, supply chain, and telecomunications. Many of our customers whom we began an engagement with many years ago have still retained our services. This high level of customer satisfaction has helped us serve many more customers and take on diverse engagements. This has helped us maintain a high level of repeatability and strive for higher growth.
